A journey of a 1000 miles

Lao Zi once said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Tomorrow marks that single step Kitchen Capers have to take in opening her first retail store in the heartlands of quiet, sleepy town in Kallang Bahru, Singapore.

For the past 4 weeks, much preparation were made in renovations, in cold calling every Food supplier or manufacturer to stock up on ingredients. There was so much to do, I never knew. Now I know. And then nearing to the date, hubby dearest took leave and help me to run errands.

He alone did most of the store's layout, and co-ordinated and liasie with contractors on chillers, electricial works, plumbing and flooring and even the shelving racks. Then he helped me to design on placement of goods and how we should display the many range of food, ingredients, be it dry or wet, chocolates or flour, candy or even where the cake stands should be so that we get that maximum selling power.

I think my store wouldn't have made it in time if he hasn't help me. :)

Beside hubby dearest, Natasha came and helped too. And my brother-in-law, Willie who will be working at the store as Manager. We painstakingly tagged each product, display and stock up the whole place. We come in at 10am and leave by 6pm, EVERYDAY..I must emphasised that too. For the later part of last week, I got sick. High fever, flu and cold..so I stayed away from the shop. Yet they continued to work. Despite being ill, I found the Lord's strength in me to cook a decent dinner for them. Warm meals...lovingly prepared.

By His grace, the 39C high temperature left me within 2 days and I am back to the store again.

At the end of today, we finally saw the fruit of our labour...a testimony of God's loving kindness for all of us and for all.

I hope to see many of you who are in SG and who frequents my blog or my forum at my store.

Come and visit us...many in store promotions and freebies during the 1st initial month of opening.

Old fashioned granny pots

I got these again. I just didn't have time to load it up to show. However, these are not spoilt. Just that some of the flowers painted are not that pretty or refined enough for sale in a big departmental store in Singapore. So once again, my supplier friend has ask if I could help them to sell it online.

These pots are new and selling at below COST price. No more discounts. CASH and CARRY!

Please email me at gina@kitchencapers.net if you are interested.

UPDATE : 8 April

SOLD OUT! Thanks to all who email to me on this.
